The artificial Kanda river

The original route of the Kanda river was different

from the current flow.

In the past, people living in old Tokyo(Edo) 

were suffering from critical floods of

the river. Therefore, the government at that time

took an action to control flood.

They decided to do a great thing, which was

changing the route of the Kanda river.

they built the by-pass route of it, and it was

needed making new route through a hill in old Tokyo.

Nowadays, the current Kanda river has been taken

the same route at that time.

I'd like to watch the trace-mark penetrating the hill. 

The hill. the original route of the Kanda didn't flow along it. 

The chuo line can be seen beside it. 

The river looks like a steep walled valley, which is artificial.
It was dredged now.

I could see a dredging ship.

We can feel easily the river was made artificially.

The streetcar

Surprisingly people are not known, 

but the streetcars are running in Tokyo.

I was surprised to watch them, too.

I took them when I found them.

The streetcars make me recall a historical scene 

in the good old days,

because the streetcars seem to be one of the symbol

 of the Japan's period of rapid economic growth after WWII.

The Sequence of a ship coming

In the EDO era (the Japanese old period),

Current Tokyo district had a lot of rivers

that carry foods, stones, trashes and so on.

Nowadays, These rivers has been buried and

a large number of the ships has been disappeared.

Although, few ships are existing on the water.

Fortunately, I saw it, so I take it continuously.

I walked around along the Kanda river

The Kanda river is one of the favorite river in Tokyo.

Its flow path have been changed for about 400 years.

Tokyo's history it is no exaggeration to say that 

the history of the flood control of the Kanda River.

I tried to walk along the Kanda river as the first

step to learn of the flood control in Tokyo.

It's hardened by concrete and dug deeply.
It prevent the river from overflowing. 

The river partly flows under the high way.

There are beautiful flowers beside it.

The water quality appears to be good.
In fact, I can find some carps in it. 

My memories in the last golden week

Carps swam in the blue sky.

 I ate a delicious cake having  cute cat face.

　I saw　this beautiful flower in my mother's field.

I saw this cake in a cake shop,

but I couldn't buy it.

The carp streamer is a typical things on 5th May.

It's the national holiday of children's day.
